Hot off the press

Hola!
The big news this week is that Harry has finally succumbed and had his hair cut!!!!!!!! It caused quite a stir on camp and Harry has been enjoying all the compliments especially from the female of the species. Here you can see for yourself.

And of course, the other big news as far as Harry is concerned was the start of the six nations ( Rugby to the un-initiated). Harry went off to find a bar that would be showng the matches and was delighted to find one whose owner was Welsh and just as passionate about the game as himself. The banter has been terrific and many a happy hour has been spent cheering, commiserating and analysing the games. There is still more to come so H will be a happy chappy for a few weeks yet.

We haven't escaped the Arctic weather that most of you have been experiencing but obviously it has not been as severe. We still have the clear blue skies but temperatures have plummeted especially at night and I have had to dig out my hot water bottle to keep my feet warm in bed. We have also had some very strong winds but are pleased to report that the awning is coping very well with the battering it has had. Out of the wind, finding a sunny spot is lovely. This small bay called El Portet was just one such spot and we spent a lovely afternoon relaxing in the sunshine, enjoying a beer at the waters edge.

Our friends, Roy and Pauline celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary last week with a bit of a do at the camp bar. A bit of research was needed to find "The Anniversary Waltz" - none of us could remember who sang it. With the help of modern technology, Pauline found what she was looking for and downloaded the song from i tunes. All very high tech us oldies you know! Oh, in case you are wondering - various artists have recorded the song - not to be confused with "The Last Waltz" by Engelbert Humperdink - but the song on the day was by Anita Harris. It was a great afternoon made all the more special for Roy and Pauline when 2 of their closest friends, Liz and Roy, arrived "unexpected" - well Pauline sort of knew but didn't let on to anyone.

We also hied a car last week and were out and about seeing the sights. We enjoyed lovely drives through the Jalon valley, spotted a bit of tree prunng - palm trees getting a hair cut, and of course we had to stop off and buy some oranges as you can see.

We also visited nearby Javea, explored the old historic part of town and meandered down to the beach front and harbour with their trendy shops including Tiffany jewellers with Tiffany prices! - I won't get my hopes up.

On that note I shall love you and leave you with this picture which  says it all.

Wish you were here.

Bye for now, love to all

Kath and Harry xxx

PS Harry is keen to inform you all that the weather is now back to normal and he is back on the beach sunbathing!
